Julie Hayden
Building on solid, culturally secure foundations.
Julie Hayden is a Goreng woman born and raised in Katanning, WA.
She brings a wealth of cultural knowledge and experience to Push Consulting and has been invaluable in supporting us in our ongoing engagement with Aboriginal people and organisations across the Great Southern region beyond.
Experience
Julie has 10 years of experience within the WA Department of Aboriginal Affairs where she was responsible for the operation of the Aboriginal Family History Unit. This is augmented by a series of roles within the resources industry including Indigenous Human Resource Advisor, Supervisor/ Mentor, Project Manager, Trainer/Assessor and Training Facilitator over the past 10 years.
Current roles
In 2012 Julie experienced a calling to return to her home in Katanning and drive positive cultural and socio-economic change there for the Noongarand wider community. She now works as the Business Development Manager for Badgebup Aboriginal Corporation and sits on the WA Department of Communities' Aboriginal Cultural Council.
"Our achievements within projects which involve first nation peoples would not be possible without agile and effective cultural support. This enables us to sucessfully navigate the often polarised needs of both government and communities in a manner that is always localised, fully informed and, above all, culturally secure from the onset.
Julies' input and advice is always based on strong cultural wisedom and firmly focused on the good of the many, never the few, to build stronger, culturally - engaged communities for future generations.
